What's the right flooring for your home?

Not every floor covering is right for every lifestyle. For example, if you have pets, carpet is probably not for you. If you don’t want to worry about scratches and like to live a carefree style life, tile will probably be your best option, but it is also one of the most expensive.

Vinyl plank or LVP as it is also commonly known is a great happy medium between tile and carpet. It’s softer on your feet than tile but still offers a nice level of comfort when walking on it. LVP comes in all different sizes and price points. The wear layer is the most important. Cheaper flooring usually comes with a 12 mil wear layer or less. The better floors come with a 20 mil wear layer and sometimes offer ceramic coatings which protect the floor from scratches.

No matter what LVP you go with all vinyl can scratch under the right circumstances.

Hardwood flooring can be very pretty and very expensive! They require lots of care and do scratch! They are also subject to moisture and humidity where LVP is not.

Under no circumstances will we install bamboo flooring. Bamboo is not designed for high humidity climates like Florida. People will tell you, you can put bamboo in but I highly advise against it!. I haven’t come across one bamboo floor that hasn’t cupped or warped in some way due to the humidity. Bamboo is also a grass, not a wood.

Carpet squares are great for office spaces, kids rooms, or dens due to their ability to be changed easily if staining or damage occurs.
